Why Rooms Ruin BassLong bass wavelengths interact with room dimensions, creating standing waves: zones where bass stacks up and zones where it cancels. Placement determines which of those zones your seats occupy — which is why the same subwoofer can sound spectacular or sloppy in the same room.
Placement Beats VolumeThe classic “subwoofer crawl” — placing the sub at the listening position and crawling the perimeter to find where bass sounds smoothest — still works. Corners maximize output but often thicken the sound; a spot along the front wall usually balances impact and evenness.
