HOME AUTOMATION PROJECT
A robust surveillance system was setup for this home automation project down in Studio City. Three weeks prior, the client’s home was broken into. Therefore he wanted to install a solid system that was easy to use.
For this setup, we used the client’s media closet as home base. We could have chosen any closet, but we went with this one because it was located in the center of the house. Because the surveillance cameras were wired, we needed to pull the cables. Thus, the location was important. Next, we made a custom cut-out for the 27″ monitor to sit flush against the dry wall. The display will show all 7 cameras simultaneously, or it could be toggled from camera to camera. Later we needed to establish the home network to integrate the entire system, i.e. home automation. Because the client was already using a 10g Netgear router, we had enough bandwidth to handle 1080P video outputs. Finally, the home automation project ended with integration of the surveillance system software with the client’s iOS phone. As a result, this allowed the client to control and access his surveillance system from anywhere around the world. AT A GLANCEProject : TypeHouse
