HOW TO PICK THE RIGHT TV FOR A HOME THEATER

So how do you pick the right TV for a home theater?  Well, when it comes to picking a TV, many people will go for the biggest screen they can afford. But choosing a TV for a home theater should be more than screen size. There are other considerations to be made;
ROOM SIZEHow big is the room where you will place the TV? Flat screen TVs can be mounted on the wall to leave room below for placing the speakers. If you don’t plan to mount the TV, be sure to have a shelf stand that is as wide as the TV.
The distance you sit from the TV needs to be factored in. A screen that is too large in a small room will overwhelm the viewer. You can get the ideal screen size by multiplying the distance to the TV by 0.84. If you are 5 feet (60 inches), the ideal distance would be 52 inches. Typically, a 50 inch TV is adequate for the average living room.
PICTURE QUALITYHigher resolution allows for sharper and clearer images. This is more important in large screens where image quality can be hazy at lower resolutions. The standard these days is 1080 pixels, which is high definition. Expect to pay more for a larger screen with higher resolution (ultra-high definition)
CONNECTIONSIn addition to the basic inputs and output, a TV should also support HDMI, IR, Ethernet, and Bluetooth/Wifi. This enables connection with a wider range of equipment including A/V receiver, router, gaming consoles, computers, and other smart devices in a home.
Consider the placement of the ports. If they are all on the back, it makes it difficult to mount the TV on a wall.
SMART TVTVs that support viewing of internet content are known as Smart TVs. You will have to pay more for these features. The question is whether you really need a smart TV. This is because you can access internet content on your computer and view it on the TV over wifi. The standard A/V receiver supports internet content like Netflix, so there is limited need for a smart TV if you are on a budget.
HOME AUTOMATIONIf you have a home automation system, it would be smart to go for a TV that integrates into it. This way you don’t have to juggle remotes. You can control both the audio and video from a single remote console.
Picking a TV for your home theater should not be really that difficult. There are plenty of TV reviews you can go through to assess each of the above considerations.
So there you have it folks.  Hopefully this articles gives you some insight on how to pick the right TV for a home theater.
