AMAZON ECHO AND ECOBEE THERMOSTAT

Amazon Echo Integration with Ecobee ThermostatAmazon Echo integration with Ecobee thermostat is fairly easy to do.  We worked on a project yesterday for a customer who had just purchased the Amazon Echo, and the Ecobee thermostat.  However, he ran into a problem installing the thermostat.  Needless to say, he called us for help!
One thing we want to mention is that we get a lot of questions about of comparing Ecobee vs Nest.  Nest is a company that was recently purchased by Google.  It is most popular in design.  From our experience, both thermostats have proven to be durable and functional.  Ecobee does seem to have an edge on detecting the room temperature more accurately, when comparing to any other brands available in the market today.
ComputabilityUnfortunately the customer’s house was built pre 1935, and did not have the proper wiring compatible with the Ecobee thermostat.  We had to pull addition wires to get this to work.  You see, a lot of people make the mistake of thinking their house and internal wiring is compatible with the latest technology, but that is often not the case.
Moving forward, we configured his home Wi-Fi next, connected the Ecobee thermostat to it, and configured Amazon Echo’s application to integrate both systems.  We showed the customer how to configure and manage the thermostat.
At Cinema Systems, it’s not just about doing the bare minimum.  We go the extra mile to make sure the client is happy.  One way to ensure that is to make sure the client understands the system.  In summary, transfer of knowledge goes a long way.
At the end, we had another happy customer.  Just remember, your house may not always be compatible with the latest technology. Thus, please do your due diligence and check all requirements before making the commitment.
