On the other hand, home theaters have become commonplace at homes. They give the living room a true stereo surround sound experience. A combination of quality home theater sound and great movies streaming from your PC completes your home entertainment experience. USE OF HDMI OUTPUTIf your computer has a HDMI output port, you may connect the computer to the HDMI input of your home theater receiver. The HDMI input transfers both the audio and video signals at once. Therefore, it will be passing your audio with ease. You can use the HDMI output to ensure the video is projected on your TV. Many home theaters have an output port for HDMI. Therefore, you can loop your HMDI output in such a way that it passes through the home theater to your TV input. When you do this, you can pass the sound through to your home theater speakers and watch the video on your TV. You will need to enable a duplicate screen on your PC. Most home theater systems detect HDMI sound connections as Dolby Digital and will decode the signal to give you quality surround sound experience. AUDIO OUTPUTSIf your PC does not have HDMI ports, you can use the old analog audio inputs to connect to the home theater. Most computers allow the 3.5 mm audio jacks instead of the RCA audio outputs. Some home theater systems have the standard 3.5 audio input port. Others just have the RCA quarter–inch jack ports. In case of the former, you will have to connect the sound system with the PC using a cable where both edges have 3.5mmm jack pins. However in case of the latter, you will need a cable with the 3.5mm jack pin on one end and RCA outputs on the other end. In such a case, you may use the VGA output to connect the PC to the TV for the video purposes. There are computers with multi-channel outputs that are connected to the surround sound speaker system. The outputs require adapters to work conveniently and are connected to the home theater’s preamp inputs. For computers with digital optical audio output, connect it to the digital audio input of your receiver.
